STUDENT Boerhaave belongs to a series of buildings, included in the inventory of architectural heritage in Flanders. The building was completely renovated in 2010. Outwardly by returning to the historic and architectural appearance, inwardly by the spatial layout to suit contemporary lifestyle.

Herman Boerhaave
Herman(us) Boerhaave (Voorhout(NL), December 31, 1668 - Leiden(NL), September 23, 1738) was a Dutch physician, anatomist, botanist, chemist, humanist and scientist. He was a professor who, for a time, held three of the five chairs of the medical faculty. He was also Rector of the University of Leiden and director of the Hortus Botanicus of Leiden. Furthermore he was known as a gifted teacher and one of the most famous men of Europe, with a fame even known in China.
